Femke Bastiaen is a Belgian professional goalkeeper, born on April 11, 2001, in Zulte, Belgium. Known for her agility, strong reflexes, and excellent game-reading ability, she has quickly made a name for herself in women’s football.
Since the 2024-2025 season, Bastiaen has been playing for FC Utrecht in the Vrouwen Eredivisie, having signed a contract that extends until mid-2026. Prior to her move to Utrecht, she was part of the PSV setup. Bastiaen joined PSV’s youth academy in the 2021/22 season, and on January 20, 2022, she signed her first professional contract with the club, which was initially valid until mid-2024. She made her Eredivisie debut for PSV on April 29, 2023, in a 4-0 home victory against VV Alkmaar, where she started in goal due to the absence of Lisan Alkemade. Her solid performance earned her another start in the following game against sc Heerenveen.
Bastiaen began her career in Belgium, playing for KAA Gent, Zulte Waregem, and Kontich FC, after coming through the youth ranks at Jong Zulte. She has also been a regular presence in Belgium’s youth national teams, playing for Belgium U19 in 2018 and representing Belgium U23 since 2022.
Her strong performances at the club level, combined with her experience on the international stage, have made Femke Bastiaen a promising talent in the goalkeeper position, with a bright future ahead in both club and international football.
